Fore Words is plugin (Add-in) to Microsoft Word , providing some helpful tools for text analysis. Currently add-in contains two items : Repetyler and K-Diff Search.
Repetyler calculates numbers of all repetitions in text (words or phrases). This program can help to improve (or just examine) the writing style in business documentation, literature text, correspondence, etc. Excessively frequent constructions and so called words-parasites are invisible at a first glance sometimes, but drastically affect reader's impression in a wrong way. Another application of Repetyler is adding some lines to author's portrait by knowing his/her favorite text forms, finding implicit messages in formal language,etc. Web-masters can consider Repetyler for analyzing words density and choosing keywords for search engines.
K-Diff Search is search by approximate matching. Matching with "k differences" means, k or less operations (add, remove or replace character) transforms search pattern to found string . For example, "model" turns to "middle" by 2 replacements and 1 insertion, so number of differences between these words is 3. This kind of search is not possible in standard Word "Find" dialog, even with wildcards and "sounds like" options
K-Diff Search helps to find words when you do not remember exact spelling, or word is misspelled in document.
